Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 11, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Private Well Guide (“we”, “us”) at https://privatewellguide.com collects and uses information. Operated by the Private Well Guide team, United States. You can reach the team through our contact page.

Information we collect

You give us: – Contact form: your name, email address and message. Used only to reply to you. Please don’t send us lab reports or health information; we can’t interpret them, and we don’t need them. – Comments: comments are turned off. If we enable them, WordPress will store your name, email, comment text, IP address and browser user agent for spam detection.

Collected automatically: – Analytics: we use Koko Analytics, a self-hosted analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not share data with third parties. It records pages viewed, referring site, and approximate device and browser type in aggregate. – Server logs: our web server keeps standard logs (IP address, date and time, page requested, browser) for security and troubleshooting. They’re kept for a limited period. – Spam protection: comments and form submissions are checked by Antispam Bee, which runs on our own server and does not send your data to a third-party service.

Cookies

Our own site sets only the cookies WordPress needs to work (for example, for logged-in users or remembering comment details). Affiliate partners set cookies: when you click an affiliate link and land on a retailer’s or manufacturer’s site (for example Amazon, Tap Score or SpringWell), that site may set cookies to track the referral. Those cookies are governed by that site’s privacy policy, not ours. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

How we use information

To reply to messages, understand which content is useful, keep the site secure, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information, and we don’t share it except with the service providers named above, or when required by law.

Third-party sites

We link to government agencies, laboratories, manufacturers, retailers and other sites. We aren’t responsible for their privacy practices. If you order a water test from a lab or test-kit company, your sample results and details are handled under that company’s privacy policy.

Data retention

Contact messages: kept as long as needed to handle your request, then deleted within 12 months. Comments: until deleted.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR/UK GDPR or California’s CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your personal information, and to object to certain uses. To make a request, use our contact form. We’ll respond within the time the law requires. We don’t sell or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by the CCPA.

Children

This site isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.

Security

We use HTTPS and keep our software updated, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Changes

We’ll update this page when our practices change, and revise the “Last updated” date.
